Introducing the Homozygous Curly Selkirk Rex
As the curly gene is dominant, when you mate a curly Selkirk Rex to another curly Selkirk Rex, homozygous cats (owning two copies of the the curly gene) occur as a ratio of 1:4 in this curly to curly mating. These cats tend not to be showable as their type is altered & too finer boned but do produce all curly offspring mated to a straight coated counterpart, the advantage of this is pick of the litter is curly and not straight!
Although they look slightly different to the regular Selkirk Rex cats you will see on the show bench they still have the Selkirk purrsonality and endearing qualities.
